Juan Bernat Discusses His Contract Status and the Rumors Surrounding Sergio Ramos

The contract Juan Bernat with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of this 2020-21 season. However, the player is already in talks with the club about an extension that is still open and ongoing.

Despite there being interest from other clubs for the 27-year-old, Bernat made it clear in an interview with AFP (via Mundo Deportivo) that he wants to continue his career with the French team.

“Yes, yes. We are talking about the contract, the negotiations are open, but at the moment, nothing has been done. But I think they will be successful.”

When asked about the possible arrival of Sergio Ramos to the Parisian team, Bernart acknowledged that Ramos is a player of excellent skill. However, he also assured that these statements that have generated intrigue and expectation in the European press are rumors.

“It’s true. He is a leader, a great player. He has shown it in his career. He is an incredible player with a lot of character. But I can’t say anything else. They are just rumors.”

He was also questioned about coexistence in the team due to the latest events in different games where the results have not been very agreeable at a general level. Still, the defender denied that there is a bad atmosphere in the French club. On the contrary, he said that the team is very united.

“It’s true. He is a leader, a great player. He has shown it in his career. He is an incredible player with a lot of character. But I can’t say anything else. They are just rumors.”
