‘Institutionally, Neymar’s Not in My Plans’ – Barça Presidential Candidate Could Put an End To the Neymar Saga

Since arriving in Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, the rumors of a Neymar Jr. return to FC Barcelona have surfaced every summer. However, with Josep Maria Bartomeu resigning as president of Barça, it could affect whether the pursuit of the 28-year-old continues under a new regime.

Nonetheless, one man has no interest in bringing back the Brazil international and would like to move the Spanish club forward rather than continuing to rehash rumors about Neymar.

Barça presidential candidate Víctor Font has made it known that Neymar will not be in his plans, according to SportFont stated that the financial aspects are why he doesn’t want to bring the PSG forward back, but also he cites institutional reasons why a move wouldn’t make sense.

“Institutionally, Neymar’s not in my plans,” Font said. “For financial reasons and for other reasons, like the lawsuit he has against the club and the fact he left the club in a tricky position days before the season started (in 2017).”

Neymar is under contract until 2022, and talks between the capital club and the Brazil international are ongoing. However, with no other club likely affording his wages, it does seem that Neymar will remain in Paris.
