Former French Defender Previews PSG’s Upcoming Champions League Fixture Against Manchester United

Paris Saint-Germain is set for another pivotal UEFA Champions League group stage clash this season when it takes on Manchester United in the return fixture. PSG now stands at second place in Champions League Group H, but a win over Manchester United could give the club a possible chance at finishing top of the group. Nonetheless, PSG needs to come away with a positive result in the fixture in order to pull away from the current third place in the group side RB Leipzig.

Former French and PSG defender Gregor Paisley is expecting a tough contest for manager Thomas Tuchel’s side. The club is under pressure this season, especially as it has had multiple disappointing results in Ligue 1 play. Paisley spoke to PSG TV and previewed the contest while also providing a prediction for the result.

“The X factor, which can change the course of the game, is the group’s state of mind,” Paisley said. “We must return to more simplicity. We have to play as a team, despite the fatigue.

“I sign immediately for a draw. We have to do our rounds at the end of the year, Paris Saint-Germain will be very different next year. To achieve a positive result, we will have to be effective offensively, we will have opportunities and above all we must not waste them. But the most important thing is to play as a team and to show solidarity.”

PSG has had several strong showings from multiple players this season. Of course, one could point out the world-class performances from the likes of Neymar. But Paisley took some time to shout out Moise Kean.

“I also want to underline the excellent end of the match of Moïse Kean against RB Leipzig when he came into play,” Paisley said. “Since the start of the season, he has been monstrous, it is a real point of attachment for his teammates. I was a defender and this kind of player is wearing down the defenses.”

Kean has scored goals in Champions League and Ligue 1 play. He is currently on pace for a double-digit goal-scoring season.
