Video: ‘It’s Really a Very Difficult Group That It Is Balanced’ – Leonardo on the Clubs Drawn Into PSG’s Group

The UEFA Champions League draw put Paris Saint-Germain in a difficult group alongside Manchester United FC, RB Leipzig, and İstanbul Başakşehir FK. However, it’s not one that should see the capital club go through, health permitting.

PSG sporting director Leonardo is currently taking criticism from the capital club supporters for not being as active in improving the squad that’s coming off a Champions League final appearance. Nonetheless, he spoke with the UEFA website to discuss Group H and what he expects from the three other clubs.

“Leipzig shows each year that it is growing in strength, that’s obvious. Manchester United are back in the Champions League and have recruited players. They are a young but very strong team. Istanbul Basaksehir is a team that won the Turkish championship for the first time,” Leonardo said.

“It’s really a very difficult group that it is balanced because the competition is, it is played on small details, it depends on so many things: the draw, injuries. Because you play every month, even if this year it’s a little more condensed because we start later.”
