Video: ‘If Someone Wants To Criticize, Get the License To Train and Show It’ – Tuchel Defends Decision To Start Marquinhos in the Midfield

With Paris Saint-Germain needing the three points to keep up with Manchester United FC and RB Leipzig in Group H, the capital club got a much-needed win over İstanbul Başakşehir.

However, the victory came with a price as Neymar Jr. left with an injury early in the fixture due to muscle pain in his left thigh, according to RMC Sport

After the 2-0 win, Les Parisien’s manager Thomas Tuchel spoke to RMC Sport about Neymar’s injury.

“It was necessary for him to come out. We must wait. It wasn’t a real pain, but it made him uncomfortable,” Tuchel said. “In a tight schedule like this, it can cost a few games. But I’m not sure at this point.”

The German manager then touched on those questioning his tactics regarding Marquinhos starting in the midfield instead of at center-back.

“Critics? What is it? Anyone can play critics. Does anyone think that Marquinhos is better in defense? Where did you play last year? And what did we do, Champions League final? Okay. And four titles. And that’s my decision. There are many reasons why he plays there. Critics don’t exist,” Tuchel said.

“If someone wants to criticize, get the license to train and show it. But social networks do not exist. It is also possible to see Danilo attacking and midfielder Rafinha. We have many possibilities.”
