Coming off their first UEFA Champions League final appearance, many supporters assumed that Paris Saint-Germain would do everything to improve their squad.
Perhaps losing a final would motivate the capital club to fix critical weaknesses, like Liverpool FC, who lost in 2018, but addressed the holes in their squad and won the competition the following year.
However, with only a few days left until the summer transfer window closes, PSG has only made one impactful addition in Alessandro Florenzi. Manager Thomas Tuchel expressed concern during his press conference and doesn’t know if any more recruits will come before the window closes, despite being linked to various players.
“Today is a reality. I don’t know if we are going to recruit other players. We have to wait. If things stay that way, it’s not impossible that Florenzi is the only recruit,” Tuchel said.
“We will never stop pushing players with whom we work; we will give them confidence. We will never accept defeat. We always play to win. This situation is a reality: we have a small team with players who are often with their national team, without preparation, with the coronavirus. I’m worried.”
