Video: ‘Five, Six Years Ago, Yeah He’s a Great Signing’ – Manchester United Legend on the Arrival of Former PSG Striker

After being listed as the worst transaction in the summer transfer window, forward Edison Cavani continues to provoke comments. On this occasion, Paul Scholes criticized the signing of the forward in Manchester United as everything indicates that the Uruguayan player was about to retire.

In an interview with Stadium Astrothe former midfielder discussed the arrival of former Paris Saint-Germain striker to Old Trafford, a move that confuses Scholes because of Cavani’s age.

Another reason this move confuses the former Red Devil because he hasn’t played football since the initial shutdown that led to Ligue 1 canceling its 2019-20 season.

“Obviously in his day, he’s been a top-quality center-forward. There’s no doubt about that. But he’s 33 years old, looked like he was going to retire. He’s not played a lot of football for PSG last season,” Scholes said.

“Five, six years ago, yeah he’s a great signing, he’ll take us onto that next level, possibly. But I just don’t think he’ll take us to the next level now.”
