‘There Was Nothing Concrete’ — Inter Milan Midfielder Christian Eriksen Responds to Rumors Linking him to PSG

Paris Saint-Germain was heavily linked with multiple midfielders over the recent summer transfer window. For one, PSG was rumored to be interested in Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen. According to a report from the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoMercatoWeb), PSG contacted Inter to inquire about Eriksen for a loan deal. However, Inter did not even attempt to begin negotiations with PSG as the Serie A club had no desire to send the midfielder off on a season-long loan stint.

On Eriksen’s part, he is not outright denying the rumor but rather is saying that he did not hear about any interest from PSG over the window. He spoke further about the reported rumor via a press conference (via Le10Sport) while with the Danish national team.

“I did not hear anything from my agent,” Eriksen said. “There was nothing concrete. I’m used to media speculation but can’t say which rumors are true and which are false. There was nothing concrete, and Monday was an ordinary day for me because nothing happened.”

Eriksen stayed on with Inter after the transfer window closed. But had PSG pushed for a permanent transfer agreement rather than a season-long loan deal, Eriksen might have ended up with the reigning Ligue 1 champions instead.
