Report: Neymar Dealing With a Slight Lower Back Injury

It is never good news for a club to find out that one of its own players picked up an injury while on international duty. This happened to be the case with Paris Saint-Germain and current forward Neymar, who left training on Wednesday after feeling pain in his lower back, according to a report from the Brazilian-based outlet Globo Esporte.

Brazil held a scheduled training session on Wednesday as it continued to prepare for its 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying fixture against Bolivia on Friday. Neymar featured in the training session but did not complete it after feeling notable lower back pain. He subsequently left the pitch and did not return.

The PSG forward has already received treatment for his slight injury. Brazil will know more about the extent of his injury after the team’s medical staff reevaluates him on Thursday.

For now, Brazil does not deem the injury to be a serious one, as the report mentions that Neymar is currently ruled as a doubt for the fixture against Bolivia. But with Neymar’s extensive injury history, Brazil does not want to take any chances with his health and will be cautious after knowing more about just how serious it is.

PSG sure hopes that Neymar will be fully fit and healthy when he returns from international duty later this month.
