Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Danilo Pereira is slated to make his first Ligue 1 appearance for the club in its upcoming home fixture against Dijon. It is unclear whether manager Thomas Tuchel will elect to start Pereira in the fixture. At the least, the Portuguese midfielder should be in line to receive playing time in a fixture in which the club will be aiming to extend its current winning streak.
Gil Vicente manager Rui Almeida is backing Pereira to enjoy prominent success this season with PSG. Almeida spoke further to Le Parisien about Pereira’s play and how the midfielder may fit under Tuchel.
“When Verratti comes back, he will be complimentary as he is in selection with Moutinho,” Almeida explained. “I’m convinced that Danilo has the qualities and temperament to succeed in Paris. Like Thiago Motta was, he is a real sentry, but he knows how to adapt to a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 from Tuchel. He reads and understands the game well and is very strong in duels.”
This season will be a key one for the longtime FC Porto talent. If he can meet expectations this season, PSG could end up electing to trigger the buy option that Porto included in the season-long loan agreement.
