Navas Says Neymar’s Play as of Late for PSG is ‘Out of the Ordinary’

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has elevated his play as of late for the club. From his performances over last season’s UEFA Champions League knockout stage to his showings in Ligue 1 play this year, Neymar is proving why he is among the most elite goal-scoring forwards in the continent today.

Neymar’s teammates have certainly enjoyed watching him grow with his play, including goalkeeper Keylor Navas. The Costa Rican goalkeeper is well familiar with Neymar from their encounters during several El Clasico duels from years ago. But now, Navas is a beneficiary from the Brazilian’s world-class play. In an interview with Telefoot (via Le10Sport), Navas talked about Neymar and credited his ability in becoming more of an unselfish teammate.

“Neymar is a player with experience, he played for many years in great teams,” Navas explained. “He knows what it’s like to win titles, which is very important. Today he is in a good period of his career, in football, he is very involved in the team and we are taking advantage of it. What he does on the ground is obviously out of the ordinary.”

Navas’ comments on Neymar are certainly echoed by many of the Brazilian’s PSG teammates and those who have gone up against him over the years. There just are not many players in the game today like Neymar.
