Paris Saint-Germain completed one of its goals over the current transfer window when it came to terms on a contract extension deal with prospect Arnaud Kalimuendo. The club will now keep the forward for four seasons. Afterward, PSG subsequently loaned him off to RC Lens for a season-long loan move. Lens will not have the opportunity to complete a permanent transfer deal for the talent as he is slated to return to the reigning Ligue 1 champions next year.
Kalimuendo will now have the opportunity to regularly feature for a Ligue 1 side. Starting minutes are not slated to be a guarantee in his stint with Lens, but he should be granted the chance to prove why he deserves to start for the club. Kalimuendo spoke further to Lens’ official website about why he agreed to the loan move.
“I am very happy to join this great club and this great team,” Kalimuendo said. “I didn’t hesitate for a second, I know it’s the right choice. The team runs well, is well ranked and has good content, it’s always fun to be part of a team that loves to play. I am really looking forward to wearing these new colors.”
Kalimuendo will have the opportunity to develop his game. He knows that there are aspects of his play as a forward that need some improvements.
“I am a fast player, rather efficient and sure of my technique, I have to improve in the level of the aerial game and in the taking of information and I know that I will be made to work on these aspects to continue to progress,” Kalimuendo said.
Lens manager Franck Haise also touched on Kalimuendo’s play as a forward and what he expects from him in his season-long loan stint.
“He is a fairly complete attacker, there is speed, quality in the movement of depth in his game but not only that,” Haise said. “It’s done, with the four forwards who have played this season an additional rotation.”
