After several months of rumors and Edinson Cavani’s decision not to prolong the adventure with PSG during the UEFA Champions League’s resumption, the Uruguay international decided to join Manchester United FC on a two-year deal in the final hours of the summer transfer market.
El Matador interviewed with the club to discuss how Ander Herrera and Ángel Di María helped him with his decision to choose United, as his former teammates spent time with The Red Devils in their careers.
“Yes, I spoke a lot with Ander and with other teammates like Angel Di Maria with whom I was in Paris. It really happened at the last minute and I called Ander to chat. I have a lot of admiration for him, for the kind of person he is and I had the feeling that his opinion on United was going to help me,” Cavani said. “And it’s true that after our discussion, we found an agreement with the club. I haven’t known Ander for a very long time but we became close friends during our time at PSG, and today we are still good friends.”
