Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has had his fair of critics over the years, especially from former club players and officials. Now, yet another person formerly affiliated with the club is voicing his opinion as to why Tuchel is not the right manager for the club.

Former PSG president Daniel Hechter provided a lengthy interview with Le Parisien where he talked about his time with the club and his views on the current structure of the team. Hechter is a fan of many of the players on the team, including both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. But the once president of the club does not endorse Tuchel as the best man for his job.

“Tuchel makes a lot of mistakes in coaching and for me he is not better than Laurent Blanc or other French coaches,” Hechter said. “If you take a foreign coach, he has to be better than those here.”

Hechter also criticized the team’s depth in the midfield as he believes that the unit is “unbalanced.” While this would have to do more with the players who the board signs, Hechter is not necessarily confident that Tuchel can get the best out of the midfield group that he has.

The current transfer window will close next week, so time is running out on the board to bolster the midfield with depth signings.
