Florenzi Credits his Early Success With PSG to ‘Being With Some of the Strongest Players in the World’

Paris Saint-Germain defender Alessandro Florenzi has surpassed expectations so far with the club. He has taken hold of the starting right-back role for the team and even has contributed to a couple of the team’s goals early in the Ligue 1 season.

Florenzi is currently on international duty with the Italian national team. But during a press conference on Monday, the PSG right-back spoke further (via L’Equipe) on his success early on with the club and just how he has been able to assimilate so well under a completely different tactical system than ones that he played in before.

“They put me at ease, the players, the staff, the managers,” Florenzi said. “And of character, I tend to get along well with everyone. And on the pitch, I managed to express my game straight away, it also owes a lot to being with some of the strongest players in the world.”

With Thilo Kehrer currently dealing with an adductor injury, Florenzi is slated to continue to receive more starts for the club when Ligue 1 play resumes later this month. He sure hopes to carry on his recent strong form over to the rest of the season.
