Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s time with Paris Saint-Germain officially came to an end on Monday when he signed with FC Bayern Munich. The deal with the reigning Bundesliga champions is for one season, which will then make him a free agent once again next year.
Choupo-Moting had hoped to return to PSG after his contract had expired, but the two sides were not able to come to terms on a new deal. Still, Choupo-Moting leaves the club with four trophy wins in two seasons and memories that PSG supporters will not forget soon, including his clutch goal against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage last season. He was a reliable forward off the bench for manager Thomas Tuchel.
On Monday, the now Bayern forward posted one final goodbye message on social media to PSG and the club’s supporters. The message read “A big thank you to the whole club PSG, my teammates, the technical staff, the managers and of course the supporters! It was a great pleasure that will remain unforgettable for me!”
Choupo-Moting is sure to add to his trophy case with his new team Bayern.
