Over the last couple of weeks, Lionel Messi’s rumored departure from FC Barcelona had the entire football world on hold.
With the 33-year-old looking for a way out to leave the Spanish club, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City FC were the likely destinations for Messi. For one, these two clubs are the few that can afford to buy his annual wages.
A couple of weeks ago, there was a report that PSG sporting director Leonardo contacted Messi’s representatives. In his appearance on Canal Football Club, the 51-year-old admitted that he was interested in the Argentina international.
“Today, with the economic situation, it’s complicated. But when you see that he wants to leave, it tickles you. You fucking say to yourself he wants to leave. He is a player who is out of any discussion,” Leonardo said.
