Stade de Reims Manager is Confident his Club Will Be Well-Prepared to Challenge PSG

Paris Saint-Germain heads into its upcoming fixture against Stade de Reims as the heavy favorites to pick up all three points. Reims currently sits at 19th in the Ligue 1 table with zero wins over its first four fixtures of the season. With PSG now in top form following its slow start to the season, the side should pick up the win with ease.

Still, Reims manager David Guion is confident in how his side will match up against the reigning Ligue 1 champions. He knows the challenge ahead in taking on a high-octane PSG side, but he believes that his side will be mentally prepared for the audacious task of picking up a result against the top team in the country. In his pre-match press conference ahead of this contest (via the club’s official website), Guion talked about what could be expected from his side for the fixture.

“It’s always an event to receive PSG,” Guion said. “Now, in fact, the idea is above all to recover well to regain some freshness and that the boys are in good condition because we know very well that we need a lot of mental resources against this team. They take the ball from you, they create frustration in you and you have to be able to respond to all of that.”

Guion continued to touch on the mental aspect of football and also on how his side must be aggressive in order to pick up a result against PSG.

“So that’s why the athletic and physical aspect are decisive, we must find freshness,” Guion said. “And then also to find the mental, it is also necessary to dare and you know it very well because we succeeded against big lately, it is necessary to find this freshness.”

PSG will be aiming for its third straight league win.
