Report: Choupo-Moting Not Expected to Re-Sign with PSG

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s time with Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly come to an end. Choupo-Moting is not expected to re-sign with the club for the upcoming season, according to a report from RMC Sport.

Choupo-Moting was offered a one-year contract by the club. However, the forward was seeking more of a commitment from PSG’s board on his future. He pushed for a multiyear contract, but the club refused to meet his demands for such a deal. Talks between the two sides reached a standstill, and they are not expected to reengage anytime soon.

With Choupo-Moting declining PSG’s offer, he remains a free agent with the ability to sign with any team via a free transfer deal. At the moment, no other clubs have been reported to show serious interest in a contract deal for the forward. Juventus was recently linked with him over a possible free transfer agreement, but there have been no reports on whether the Serie A side will push to acquire the talent.

With Edinson Cavani no longer with the team and with Choupo-Moting not expected to re-sign, the search for a backup center forward has now become a top priority for PSG sporting director Leonardo.
