When some of the Paris Saint-Germain players traveled to Ibiza, an island in the Mediterranean Sea, many hoped to unwind after their pursuit of a UEFA Champions League trophy fell short.
However, it seems as though their vacation has turned into a nightmare. Neymar Jr, Ángel Di María, and Leandro Paredes were the first three players from this trip to test positive.
As a result, it led to others who were on this trip to Ibiza to get tested. Now that test results are back, PSG confirmed that three more players had contracted the virus with L’Equipe reporting that it’s Marquinhos, Keylor Navas, and Mauro Icardi who have tested positive.
In Navas and Icardi’s case, that’s two more players vacationing on the island to have contracted the virus.
PSG’s Ligue 1 season begins next week against RC Lens on Thursday. Meanwhile, on Sunday, it’s the latest installment of Le Classique versus Olympique de Marseille.
Thus far, these matches will proceed as scheduled, and it looks like Les Parisiens will have to send out a squad with a mix of first-team and youth players.
