Paris Saint-Germain’s slow start in Ligue 1 this season turned some heads. With back-to-back losses in its first two games of the season, PSG sat in the bottom half of the Ligue 1 table. PSG has strung together its first winning streak of the season, and it seems only inevitable that the club will soon reach the top of the league table.
Even as PSG currently sits outside of the top four in the league, Lille OSC midfielder Benjamin Andre believes that PSG will soon claim first place in Ligue 1 and carry it until the end of the season. During a recent press conference (via Made in Dogues), Andre declared PSG as the clear favorite to win Ligue 1.
“You have to be realistic, Paris is far above despite its start to the season,” Andre said. “Once everyone comes back, and they will be launched.”
Overall, Andre sees that the rest of the Ligue 1 table is wide open.
“Behind, the doors are open, it will fight hard,” Andre said. “There are more teams that are prepared and who will fight. The depth bench will play a lot with the five changes. There will be a lot of teams at the top of the table who will not give up.”
At the moment, there is no one club that looks as if it will give PSG serious problems over the rest of the ongoing Ligue 1 season.
