Going into the UEFA Champions League final against FC Bayern Munich, it would be the last for Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva.
However, his form throughout the tournament’s resumption caused many to pause and think if there’s a possibility of a contract extension.
Nonetheless, the 35-year-old took to the microphone with RMC Sport after Les Parisiens fell 1-0 to the Bavarian club. The Brazil international confirmed that this was his last match for the capital club.
“It was my last match in Paris. I’m sad. But I am very proud of this team. The family we have created this season and the respect, it’s incredible,” Silva said. “I apologize to the supporters. I thank all the fans for their love. I will come back, with another role, to this club that I loved. I want to play 3-4 years more and compete in the World Cup in Qatar.”
