FC Bayern Munich is not a team that often commits lackadaisical errors that lead to goal-scoring opportunities for opponents. But when the team does, opponents know that they have to capitalize on the chance. However, in the opening half of the 2020 UEFA Champions League Final, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe failed to do just that.
Following an errant pass from Bayern defender David Alaba in the team’s defensive third, Mbappe collected the loose ball in the penalty box and proceeded to lay off a pass to midfielder Ander Herrera. Mbappe received the return pass and sent in a low-angle shot that was easily saved by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
