After Paris Saint-Germain made the official announcement of Thiago Silva departing the club after eight seasons in Paris, the Ligue 1 Champions sent out a press release through their website to thank their former captain.
The statement listed the accomplishments of the 35-year-old, which included winning 25 trophies (seven Ligue 1, five Coupe de France, six Coupe de la Ligue, and seven Trophée des Champions) for Les Parisiens.
In 315 appearances, the Brazil international scored 17 goals for PSG. Also, Silva is tied with Marco Verratti for the most UEFA Champions League appearances with 60.

PSG then added one of the memorable moments of O Monstro’s time with the capital club, which included his match-tying header goal in the Round of 16 on the road at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea FC. At the same time, Les Parisiens played with ten men.
Finally, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi added a comment to thank Silva.
“Thiago, thank you for eight years of unforgettable memories, leadership, and commitment. You are one of the greats, and your legendary status at PSG will live forever. My very best wishes to you and your family for your new adventures, you will always be part of our family and our history, Merci Captain.”
