Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League following its dramatic win over Atalanta on Wednesday. Still, the recent injury bug remains a concern for the team.
PSG announced via its official club website of medical updates on four players, including goalkeeper Keylor Navas and midfielder Marco Verratti. PSG stated that Navas dealt with a right hamstring issue during the Champions League quarterfinal contest and an MRI revealed that he has a tear in his femoral biceps. On the other hand, Verratti is continuing to rehab his calf injury. Both players will be reevaluated on Saturday.
PSG also provided information on center-back Thiago Silva’s condition. Like Navas, Silva also dealt with right hamstring issues and an MRI confirmed a low-grade tear. The club is optimistic about his chances of appearing in the upcoming semifinal contest.
PSG sure hopes that this trio of players will be ready to go for the remainder of the tournament. The club is eyeing its first-ever appearance in the Champions League final.
