Mbappé Returns to Training With PSG Squad; Decision on Availability Is Imminent

After suffering an ankle injury two weeks ago, Kylian Mbappé began training with the ball and some running upon arriving in Portugal; however, the 21-year-old had yet to train with his teammates, until now.

RMC Sport is reporting that the France international took his first training sessions with the squad since injuring his ankle in the Coupe de France against AS Saint-Étienne.

Despite Mbappé’s integration into the squad, this doesn’t necessarily mean that he will be playing on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal match against Atalanta BC. The medical staff won’t take any risk with the PSG forward since they could be thinking ahead in the tournament and don’t want to cause any further damage to the ankle.

Nonetheless, a decision as to whether or not he will play against Atalanta is imminent. Manager Thomas Tuchel has gone on the record saying that Mbappé won’t start the match but hasn’t ruled out him coming onto the pitch as a starter.
