Herrera Bids Farewell to Silva and Choupo-Moting

The end of the road has come for both Thiago Silva and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting at PSG. The 2020 UEFA Champions League Final loss to FC Bayern Munich was the final match for the two with the club. PSG decided earlier this year that it would not renew their contracts past the team’s Champions League run, thus making them free agents at the season’s end.

PSG midfielder Ander Herrera spent just one season with both Silva and Choupo-Moting, but he still appreciated the short time he had in playing alongside them. On his official Twitter account, Herrera posted a photo of him with the two departing talents, where he wished them the best on their next destinations.

Silva will be remembered as arguably the best defender in PSG club history. The Brazilian was a constant professional during his time with the club and also won 25 trophies. On the other hand, PSG surely appreciates Choupo-Moting for his contributions in his pair of seasons with the club, which included scoring the game-winning goal against Atalanta in the quarterfinal of this season’s Champions League knockout stage.

Silva is likely off to Chelsea, while Choupo-Moting has yet to decide on his new club.
