Paris Saint-Germain was preparing for their last rehearsal before heading to Lisbon for their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matchup against Atalanta BC.
However, as the friendly versus FC Sochaux-Montbéliard was nearing kick-off, RMC Sport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi tweeted some news on the status of Marco Verratti. According to Bouhafsi, the 27-year-old sustained a calf injury during practice that will rule him out for the match next week against La Dea.

Nonetheless, it seems as though the RMC Sport journalist jumped the gun with the news. Two hours after his initial tweet, Bouhafsi followed up by tweeting that Les Parisiens confirmed the calf injury to Verratti, but that his status for the match against Atalanta is yet to be determined.
Le #PSG informe officiellement maintenant :

The capital club will reevaluate the midfielder in 72 hours and decide whether or not he will play next week. In his postgame press conference, manager Thomas Tuchel mentioned that he’s worried, but admitted he doesn’t know the diagnosis.
We’ll know in a few days whether or not PSG will be with Verratti.
