Paris Saint-Germain achieved a long-awaited goal this past season when it reached its first-ever UEFA Champions League final. Even though the club came up short against FC Bayern Munich, many predict that PSG will soon return to the final. One rival executive agrees that PSG has what it takes to make another Champions League final run.
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge watched as his side lifted up the prestigious Champions League trophy in Lisbon. But when looking on to the other side, he knows that this was not a one-hit-wonder run from PSG. In speaking to the Italian-based outlet Tuttosport (via Bein Sports), Rummenigge revealed what he told PSG forwards Neymar and Kylian Mbappe following the game along with his key prediction regarding Les Parisiens.
“I saw Neymar and Mbappe in tears and I approached to say that they were strong and that they had to continue like that,” Rummenigge said. “PSG will win the Champions League.”
Both Neymar and Mbappe will return to PSG next season, so the two will look to give it another run in the biggest club competition in the world. As long as PSG has these two forwards running its attack, the club should remain serious Champions League contenders.
