Atalanta Goalkeeper to Miss Quarterfinal Match Against PSG

Paris Saint-Germain isn’t alone when dealing with injuries to key players on their squad. Sky Sport tweeted that Atalanta will be without their starting goalkeeper, Pierluigi Gollini, who will miss the match against Les Parisiens due to a knee injury.

Behind Gollini are two goalkeepers, who’ve seen limited action during the 2019-20 season. The first is the backup, Marco Sportiello, who has played in seven matches for La Dea. Apart from coming in after the injury to Gollini against Inter Milan, the 28-year-old’s last scheduled start was on July 14th versus Brescia Calcio.

If Atalanta goes with their backup, PSG will be facing a goalkeeper who will only have played 85 minutes in one month. The other option for the Italian club will be Francesco Rossi, who has only played in one match this season.

Atalanta will likely go with Sportiello, but regardless, Les Parisien should take advantage of a rusty goalkeeper early on in the match.
