Video: Di Maria’s World-Class Cross Sets Up Icardi For Goal Against Le Havre

Paris Saint-Germain showed very little rust against Le Havre on Sunday and scored practically at will.

The exhibition match was the first of any kind of PSG since March 11, when they defeated Borussia Dortmund to reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

In the first half against Le Havre at the Stade Océane, PSG scored five total goals including two from Mauro Icardi. The second goal from the Argentine in the 19th minute was set up by a superb piece of passing from compatriot Angel Di Maria.

Di Maria received a pass on the wing and his first-touch set him up perfectly to play a cross into the box with the outside of his boot. Icardi was able to stay onside and essentially had a free header, which he did not miss.

It’s important to temper expectations as Le Havre is a Ligue 2 side but given PSG’s effort and the goal-scoring opportunities that were created, it’s understandable for fans to think PSG could win the three remaining trophies up for grabs as the club prepares to close out the 2019-20 season.
