With the departures of Edinson Cavani and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Paris Saint-Germain will be in the market for a backup striker. Well, it seems as though capital club sporting director Leonardo had found his target.
According to RMC Sport, PSG is showing interest in Hertha BSC forward Matheus Cunha. The 21-year-old recently joined the German club over the winter transfer window, where he scored five goals in 11 matches.
Despite playing the majority of the time as a striker, Cunha is versatile as he also plays out on the left-wing for Hertha. When it comes to the cost, Die Alte Dame paid RB Leipzig €18.00 million for the young forward.
Transfermarkt currently has Cunha’s value at €22 million, so it makes sense that Herta will try to recoup the money they paid for and then some if they ever decide to sell. However, after only arriving earlier in the year, it doesn’t seem likely that this deal will happen.
