Report: PSG Interested in Promising Real Madrid Defender

Paris Saint-Germain’s left-back situation could see major changes upcoming over the summer transfer window. The club is in the market for a capable left-back to fill the position over the long-term and has now turned its attention to one Real Madrid talent.

According to the Spanish-based outlet AS, PSG is interested in Sergio Reguilon. The Spanish defender is currently still on loan with Sevilla FC and will be until the team concludes its Europa League tournament run next month. He will then return to Los Blancos where his future is unclear. At the moment, Sevilla has not had any serious negotiations to make the one-season loan a permanent transfer move.

Per the report, Reguilon may not be in Madrid’s plans anymore since the club eyes Marcelo and Ferland Mendy to continue to rotate the left-back position. More importantly, Real Madrid is seeking to accumulate €100 million from transfer sales this summer, so it may look to cash in on Reguilon’s current high transfer value.

Reguilon has recorded 34 appearances in all competitions for Sevilla this season. The Spanish defender emerged as one of the most promising fullbacks in La Liga over the campaign. He totaled for six goal contributions and a 1.47 key passes per 90 rate in league play.

PSG currently has a trio of left-back options with Juan Bernat, Mitchel Bakker and Layvin Kurzawa. Adding Reguilon to this group will only intensify competition for the starting left-back role.
