Report: Juventus View PSG Midfielder as a Transfer Option

Juventus FC views Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes as a possible transfer option, according to Tuttosport (via Le10Sport).

According to the report, Juventus has Chelsea FC holding midfielder Jorginho as its top option amongst midfielders to target this summer followed by Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli. In the case that the board is not able to bring either of these two, they will turn its attention to plan C in Paredes.

The current Serie A leaders have actively been attempting to revamp an aging midfield. The club recently swapped Miralem Pjanic for Barcelona’s Arthur. If they wind up adding Paredes, they not only would add a midfielder in the midst of his prime years but also one who could step in and fill the soon-to-be void of Pjanic. Paredes can operate as the lone holding midfielder or tag along in a double-pivot setup.

Paredes has not become a regular starter with PSG but still has shown his capabilities as a stout passing midfielder. He completed 93.8 percent of his passes to go along with an average of 21.0 completed long balls per 90 in league play this past season. Both of these figures would suit him well with Juventus if a deal were to transpire.

But for now, Paredes will look to do his part and help PSG finish out the season strong.
