Rennes President Hopes to Keep Camavinga Amid Interest From PSG and Bayern Munich

Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has become one of the most coveted midfielders within Europe’s top five leagues. Teams such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain have all shown somewhat relative interest in pursuing a possible transfer deal for the talent. However, Rennes is not all in on completing such a transfer deal anytime soon.

Rennes currently aspires to qualify for the Champions League group stage next season. If it bows out during the qualification stage, it may then may face a dilemma over whether to complete a transfer deal involving Camavinga.

However, Rennes president Nicolas Holveck is currently not entertaining such a scenario.

In speaking to RMC Sport (via Le10Sport), Holveck spoke about his club’s ambition to keep key players like Camavinga regardless of what happens during the team’s Champions League qualification run.

“If we’re not in the Champions League, it won’t make players leave,” Holveck said. “I’ve been saying it since I’ve been at the club, we want to have a great season and for that we want to keep our best players. Eduardo is one of them.”

It is inevitable that Rennes will sell Camavinga and make the most out of his expected high transfer value. But for now, Rennes hopes to keep the coveted talent.
