Stade Rennes talent Eduardo Camavinga has become one of the most coveted midfielders within Europe’s top five leagues. Teams such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have all shown somewhat relative interest in pursuing a possible transfer deal for the talent. However, Rennes is not all in on completing a transfer deal anytime soon.
The club currently aspires to qualify for the Champions League group stage next season. If they bow out during the qualification stage, they may face a dilemma towards possibly electing to complete a deal with another club for Camavinga. Still, club president Nicolas Holveck is not currently entertaining such a scenario. In speaking to RMC Sport (via Le10Sport), Holveck spoke about the team’s ambition to keep key players like Camavinga regardless of what happens during the team’s Champions League qualification run.
“If we’re not in the Champions League, it won’t make players leave,” Holveck said. “I’ve been saying it since I’ve been at the club, we want to have a great season and for that we want to keep our best players. Eduardo is one of them.”
It is only inevitable that Rennes will sell Camavinga and make the most of his high transfer value. But at the moment, the club hopes to keep the coveted talent.
