PSG Showing Interest in Everton and Napoli Transfer Target

Paris Saint-Germain has made a late jump into the race for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, according to Sky Sports. Both Napoli and Everton were already showing an interest in a transfer deal for the Brazilian defender but will now have PSG to deal with in any negotiations.

According to the report, Magalhaes was set to soon decide on just which team he would like to move on to. But with PSG’s sudden emergence as being an interested team in acquiring him, the 22-year-old has now delayed his decision for now.

Magalhaes is coming off of his second season with Lille. He made 23 starts in Ligue 1 play for the team this past season. He grew as a ball-winning center-back after posting a 39.1 successful pressures percentage, which was up from the previous season’s 30.5 percent mark. The Brazilian did face PSG twice with both home and away league contests resulting in 2-0 defeats.

As with many of its rumored defender transfer targets, no significant talks on a deal have been held just yet. But it is only a matter of time before club sporting director Leonardo goes all-in to acquire a young center-back with Thiago Silva set to leave following the team’s Champions League run next month.
