PSG Keeping Tabs on Roma Midfielder Pellegrini

Paris Saint-Germain has been actively scouring the transfer market for a potent midfielder, and it now has its sights on AS Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.

According to Le10Sport, PSG sporting director, Leonardo, is looking to try to orchestrate a transfer deal for the Italian midfielder. The two sides have had contacts as of late, per the report, and now Leonardo is seeking to accelerate such a deal to bring in the coveted up-and-coming playmaker.

Per the Le10Sport report, Pellegrini has a release clause for July that would be triggered if a team submits a €30 million transfer deal proposal. The release clause is set to expire by the end of the month, which is why Leonardo is reportedly in a rush to push for the deal.

Pellegrini is one of the most talked-about midfielders in Serie A this season. He has been the catalyst and primary creative force behind Roma’s attacking play this season. He leads the team with nine assists in league play and is also posting a career-high of 3.09 key passes per 90.

The 24-year-old has shown his versatility by playing as a central attacking midfielder and also as a wide midfielder on the flanks. So if PSG can acquire him, it would only add to the already stout playmaking prowess that the team possesses.
