Official: PSG Schedule Exhibition Matches Against Le Havre, Waasland-Beveren, and Celtic

We’ve known that Paris Saint-Germain will play three exhibition matches to prepare for the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, but the opponents have been a relative mystery.

After confirmation of the Le Havre match this Sunday at the Stade Océane, it was leaked that Shamrock Rovers and Celtic FC would be PSG’s other two opponents. That turned out to be half right.

On Thursday, PSG announced that they will take on Belgian side Waasland-Beveren on July 17, and Celtic on July 21. Both matches will be played at the Parc des Princes.

The three fixtures will help PSG players prepare for the upcoming gauntlet where three trophies will be on the line. There’s the Coupe de France final against AS Saint-Étienne on July 24, the Coupe de la Ligue final against Olympique Lyonnais on July 31, and then the UEFA Champions League, which resumes in August.

The 2020-21 Ligue 1 season kicks off on August 23, which is also the date of the Champions League final. Hopefully, we’ll see that home-opener against FC Metz pushed back for good reason.
