German-based outlet Kicker conducted its annual end-of-season survey, with 270 Bundesliga players taking part in it. Much of the questions on the survey touched on topics related to the Bundesliga, including just who is the best outfield player in the league. Kicker also asked the players participating in the survey one question that world football fans regularly discuss: who is the best player in the world?
The final tally from this survey question was far from a surprise.

As expected, Barcelona forward Lionel Messi was listed as the best player in the world in this survey with 54.8 percent of the vote, and Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo came in second with 12.6 percent. Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe sat in a tie with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk with 4.4 percent of the vote.
Of course, discussions can be had for hours on just who is the top talent in the sport today.
For a good select amount of players from a top-five league in Europe to view Mbappe as one of the best players in the world sure speaks volumes.
