Verratti Wins 25th Career Trophy With PSG

With Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de la Ligue final win over Olympique Lyonnais, midfielder Marco Verratti made history yet again with the club. The Italian midfielder won his 25th career trophy with the team.

Verratti won his first-ever trophy with PSG back in 2013 when the club secured the Ligue 1 title. Overall, he has won seven Ligue 1 titles, which ties six other players for the most ever.

The midfielder has also gone on to win a combined 11 tournament cup finals with both the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue. He has made a combined 45 appearances over both tournaments while amounting for one goal and eight assists.

Finally, Verratti has also won seven consecutive Trophee des Champions trophies, which is the most by a player in the tournament’s history.

At just 27, Verratti could be on his way to becoming the player with the most trophies won. Former PSG defender Dani Alves is the all-time leader in trophies won with 41.

Still, Verratti is missing that one coveted honor: the UEFA Champions League. This year could be his best chance to finally secure the prestigious trophy.
