Lyon Manager ‘Not Surprised’ By PSG’s Quality

Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled to take on Olympique Lyonnais in the Coupe de la Ligue final later this month. But before they do, PSG has a trio of fixtures to take part in to help prepare. Les Parisiens already got rolling with a 9-0 win over Le Havre earlier this week in a performance lauded for its dominance.

Lyon manager, Rudi Garcia, was among those watching that dominating performance against Le Havre. As any manager would, he was carefully watching the showing from Neymar Jr. and company in order to prepare for the final. For Garcia, PSG’s performance was one that did not come as unexpected. He spoke at a press conference (via RMC Sport) about his thoughts on the team.

“We are not surprised by the quality of Paris Saint-Germain, whose objective is to win the Champions League,” Garcia said.

However, Garcia did not take much out of PSG’s performance.

“We don’t take stock of a single match, either ours or theirs, because it’s still preparation after a stop like no one has ever known,” Garcia concluded.

Before Lyon faces PSG, it will take on Scottish foes Celtic FC and Rangers for a pair of friendly fixtures. Lyon undoubtedly needs the friendly contests to prepare for PSG after the lengthy layoff from play.
