‘I Want to Enjoy One of the Best Teams in the World’ – Herrera Plans to See Out His Entire Contract With PSG

Ander Herrera’s first season with Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t gone as planned. The 30-year-old came in to help stabilize the midfield but has missed 21 matches due to injury.

The former Manchester United midfielder isn’t letting a bad first season weigh him down. In an interview with Onda Cero (via Sport), Herrera doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon. The Spain international adds that he hopes to see the remaining four years of his contract.

“I want to enjoy one of the best teams in the world. I still have four years of contract here. I play with some of the best players in the world, who aim for the Golden Ball every year. I am happy here. I like my daily life. I want to make the most of it. I feel good here. I want to be here,” Herrera said. “I am very good here, I love the city, it is the most beautiful city in the World after Zaragoza, the traffic is a little crazy, but I can not complain, we are happy, my family is good, I live near the Arc de Triomphe.”

Furthermore, there was a report in which the midfielder rejected a potential move back to Athletic Bilbao. For now, it seems as though he’s happy in Paris. If Herrera can remain healthy, that’s a veteran depth presence that Les Parisiens can count on going forward.

Hopefully, the 2019-20 season isn’t an indicator of the rest of Herrera’s tenure in the French capital. With PSG possibly splurging on Sergej Milinković-Savić, they’ll need help from Herrera as the Lazio midfielder could be the lone reinforcement in the upcoming transfer window.

Herrera will look to put this rough start behind him as he hopes to help PSG in their two domestic cup finals and the UEFA Champions League to close out the 2019-20 season.
