‘He’s Effective Right Now’ —Tuchel on Neymar’s Current Form

Neymar is in top form heading into Paris Saint-Germain’s upcoming key fixtures. The Brazilian scored in all three of PSG’s friendly matches this month and is also healthy. He sure is ready for PSG’s upcoming season-defining contests, which include a pair of cup finals and the UEFA Champions League knockout stage bout against Atalanta.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel is pleased to see Neymar just having fun on the pitch. He spoke in his pre-match press conference for the Coupe de France final (via PSG’s team website) about the Brazilian’s form and how well the forward has adapted to in-game playing time after being out of action for quite some time due to the coronavirus shutdown.

“He’s come back in great spirits and good shape,” Tuchel said. “It’s no surprise. He adapted very quickly to all the training sessions and got his skills back quickly. Playing is important for him, so we gave him as many minutes as possible during the warm-up games.”

The German manager hopes that he can continue to rely on Neymar, especially as he certainly needs his presence on the pitch.

“I hope he will be on the pitch because he’s effective right now,” Tuchel said.

With Neymar in top form, PSG sure is the favorite to win its upcoming two cup finals and this season’s Champions League competition.
