Former PSG Manager Believes Sarabia Should Start Against Atalanta

Angel Di Maria is suspended for the quarter-finals matchup against Atalanta next month in the UEFA Champions League. Former Paris Saint-Germain manager and current beIN Sports consultant Luis Fernández spoke with Le Parisien, about the situation and what he would do with the lineup if he were still in charge.

Fernández admitted that Pablo Sarabia should take Di Maria’s spot in the starting XI. The 60-year-old opened up by saying that the Spain international hasn’t disappointed since arriving last summer from Sevilla FC. Furthermore, he added that his current form against Le Havre puts him in the lead to start for Di Maria regardless.

Another reason why Fernández wants Sarabia to start against Atalanta is due to his scorer’s touch. The 28-year-old excels in the scoring department as well as bring more versatility to the pitch than Di María.

If manager Thomas Tuchel does indeed take Fernández’s advice, don’t expect the moment to be too big for Sarabia. Back in November during the group stage of the Champions League, the Spain international was substituted onto the pitch and eventually scored the game-tying goal against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
