Report: Fiorentina Looking to Bring Thiago Silva Back to Italy

Thiago Silva will depart Paris Saint-Germain after their UEFA Champions League season concludes in August.

Despite being 35-years-old, the Brazilian isn’t ready to call it a career in Europe as he has his eyes set on the Copa America next summer and the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

With an offer potentially from Everton FC and his former manager, Carlo Ancelotti, Silva will have to ponder where he’d like to play for the next couple of seasons.

One club that is looking to jump in and bring Silva back to Italy is ACF Fiorentina, according to Italian sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Di Marzio cites Fiorentina bringing in a veteran presence in Frank Ribery to lead its attack. Furthermore, it seems that they’d like to do the same for the defense and sign Silva.

Everton might find themselves playing in more significant matches as they will look for European football and not floundering in the middle of the table. Nonetheless, how long of a leash will Ancelotti have for Silva potentially if he struggles will be a concern for the PSG captain.

Meanwhile, at Fiorentina, O Monstro will likely be that veteran that helps guide the young players on that squad, so it will be interesting to see what type of role Silva looks for in a new club this summer.
