€40M-Rated Arsenal Midfielder in Contact With PSG, Barcelona, and Other Top Clubs

Mattéo Guendouzi is one of those Paris Saint-Germain academy players that left for greener pastures but the 21-year-old could make a triumphant return.

Guendouzi spent time in PSG’s youth squad and U-17 team (2005-2014) before leaving for FC Lorient in 2014 and working his way up the ranks there. Guendouzi landed at Arsenal in 2018 and following a breakout season, the 21-year-old native of Poissy is ready to leave North London for a new adventure according to L’Equipe.

TF1 journalist, Julien Maynard, tweeted out that Guendouzi (who did not feature for Arsenal in their match on Thursday against Southampton FC) is already in contact with Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, and PSG over a potential transfer.

The report from L’Equipe reveals that Arsenal is willing to sell Guendouzi but they expect approximately €40 million in return. At that price, I think PSG should look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements as he’s far too inconsistent and can lose his cool on the pitch as we saw against Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club.

Guendouzi is under contract until 2022, so Arsenal is in no rush to sell the midfielder but if PSG can make a strong offer, the Gunners would likely be prepared to wash their hands of the situation and move him along.
