Report: Signing Bonus Could Keep Saint-Étienne Out of the Race For Adil Aouchiche

Tanguy Kouassi is often stealing the headlines when it comes to Paris Saint-Germain youth products that could depart over the summer. Still, Adil Aouchiche is as essential for the capital club to keep.

Unlike Kouassi, Aouchiche doesn’t have many suitors trying to lure him away from Paris, and it helps that the midfielder has gone on record to say he desires to remain with PSG to scare off other clubs.

However, AS Saint-Étienne remains one of the few clubs hoping to sign Aouchiche to a professional contract this summer; nonetheless, despite being able to guarantee the 17-year-old playing time, there remains one significant hurdle for a deal to occur, the signing bonus.

Macky Diong of Le Progrès and L’Equipe tweeted out that Aouchiche and his camp are looking for a €4 million signing bonus, which could be a steep price for Saint-Étienne.

If this is the case, PSG has the upper hand in being able to play that bonus for Aouchiche but they won’t be able to guarantee the amount of playing time that Les Vertes can offer.

For Aouchiche, the teenager will have two options: securing the signing bonus money with Les Parisiens and competing for playing time or take less bonus cash and play more frequently with Saint-Étienne.
