Twitter was practically invented for football banter. I’ve been known to get involved in a few spats here and there but nothing nearly as savage as this post from the PSG Fan Club in Helsinki.

The official UEFA Champions League Twitter account innocently posted a photo of Stamford Bridge and asked, “First player you think of?” PSG Fan Club Helsinki cleverly responded, “Thiago Silva,” in reference to the match between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain in the 2014-15 UEFA Champions League.
After the first leg of the tie at the Parc des Princes, the aggregate score was locked at 1-1. In the second leg, Eden Hazard scored a late penalty to put Chelsea up 2-1 in the match and 3-2 on aggregate. That’s when Silva scored one of the best-headed goals you’ll ever see in the 114th minute. That goal was enough to see PSG advance to the quarter-finals via the away goal rule.
Unfortunately, PSG was thoroughly beaten by FC Barcelona the next round by an aggregate score of 5-1 but the goal from Silva still stands out in the minds of PSG supporters five years later.
While PSG has already qualified for the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League, Chelsea are hanging on by a thread against FC Bayern Munich after losing the first leg 3-0.
