‘Paris Is a Dream’ – Stade Rennais Defender Hopes to Suit up for PSG

In a recent interview with L’Equipe (via Culture PSG), Stade Rennais defender, Hamari Traoré, talked about several topics involving Paris Saint-Germain, which included his dream to one day play for Les Parisiens and getting under the skin of Neymar Jr.

The full-back’s current contract expires in 2021 and it looks as though he would like to take on a new challenge, which includes the hope of playing for a big club, preferably PSG.

“For now, I let him see with my agent. We’ll see what he offers. We will also see other offers. I will get what I deserve. So we’ll see what I deserve,” Traoré said. “Of course, Paris is a dream. It’s a big club. And if such a club is interested in you, it means that you have done a good job.”

With the need for a full-back, the 28-year-old has experience playing both left and right-back for Rennes who surprisingly finished third in the final Ligue 1 table. Also, with Traoré having a value of €4.8 million per Transfermarkt, it presents a cheaper option to fill the need if PSG would like to allocate transfer money towards another player.

Then, Traoré answered a question about defending Neymar Jr., who is the league’s most creative player. However, the Mali international states that one way to get the Brazilian off his game is to try and frustrate him.

“He likes that. And when you see that Neymar is starting to get mad at you, it means that you are doing your job well,” Traoré said. “When he joked that I wanted to get up while I was on the ground and then withdrew his hand after the match, he tried to find me to apologize.”
