‘He’s 21 and Has Plenty of Time to Get There’ – French Football Pundit Says Kylian Mbappé Shouldn’t Be in a Rush to Head to Real Madrid

Over the summer, along with improving the Paris Saint-Germain squad, the capital club’s sporting director will try and extend Kylian Mbappé’s contract.

Until Mbappé signs a contract extension with his hometown club, the rumor of a potential move to Real Madrid will never go away. However, Canal Plus journalist Pierre Ménès sees Mbappé extending, especially if Les Parisiens go on a deep run in the UEFA Champions League once competition resumes in August.

The French football pundit recently spoke with Paris Team (via ParisFans), where he states that at 21-years-old, the PSG forward has plenty of time to play for Los Blancos. Furthermore, he adds that a potential Champions League trophy will carry more significance if it’s won with the capital club.

“He will not go to Real Madrid this year because Real Madrid does not have the money. PSG now has a year to extend it, but it will depend on the course of the club in Champions League,” Ménès said. “I think Kylian Mbappé wants to win the Champions League with PSG because, with his reasoning and his perpetual ambition, it is more beautiful to win it with Paris Saint-Germain than with Real Madrid. He’s 21 and has plenty of time to get there.”

Ménès is right that if Mbappé wants to head to Real Madrid, that the opportunity could always be there. The France international admires Cristiano Ronaldo, but the 35-year-old spent six seasons with Manchester United FC before heading to Spain.

Nonetheless, there’s the possibility of Mbappé wanting to stay and play for his hometown club for the rest of his career, which isn’t crazy to think either. This summer will give PSG supporters a clear indication of what the young player plans to do with his future.
